With the 2025 breeding season upon us, NZSBA has been working to ensure mares that aren’t being bred this year still have the best chance of finding opportunities. Too often valuable bloodlines sit idle — when instead they could be helping strengthen our foal crop and connecting breeders with fresh possibilities.
Why We've Created This List!
We know the decision not to breed a mare in any given season can come down to timing, cost, or circumstance. By collating a live list of available mares, we want to make sure these opportunities don’t go to waste. The list is designed to connect the dots between breeders — ensuring mares can be matched with those looking to breed, lease, or invest. This is about more than just convenience: it’s about giving mares from well-established families in both gaits the best chance to shine in new homes, and supporting breeders who might otherwise miss out
How It Works
