NZSBA National Executive & Governance
The NZ Standardbred Breeders Association is governed by a National Executive that meets biannually to discuss strategic priorities, industry advocacy, and initiatives that support breeders nationwide. Each regional Affiliate appoints two representatives to the Executive, ensuring balanced input from across the country.
In 2019, the Association’s rules were updated to allow for the appointment of two co-opted Executive members, enabling additional expertise and perspectives to be brought to the table. These co-opted positions are now active and play a valuable role in shaping NZSBA direction. The Executive elects its own Chairperson, while the Executive Manager serves as a non-voting secretary and oversees the day-to-day operations of the Association. All members are invited to attend the Annual General Meeting, held each October or November.
